Power in interaction – Recognize your influence and use it
Do you get interrupted often? Do you feel that people are not taking what you are saying seriously? Or do you feel oppressed, stifled or rejected with your opinions and ideas? Or – are other people afraid of you, seeing you as a threat of some sort? Do you get frustrated because nobody dares to answer your direct questions honestly let alone challenge your opinions? Do you often take too much or too little space in conversations?
These problems can be solved effectively with developing the ability to make conscious choices with your status behaviour. Each of us has their own comfort zone in status behavior. We learn to stay inside of it informed by our historical experiences of how other people have responded to our behavior. The ways we expressed ourselves and learned to navigate acceptedly in our childhood family, kindergarten, school etc. are inside our comfort zone. Now you can learn how to break free from these survival strategies and be fully present as your self.
By learning how to manage your status behavior consciously gives you enormous power in both work and private life – in setting healthy boundaries, being approachable, creating psychological safety, servant leadership, facilitation, team work or shared expertise and knowledge flow.
In this training
Our goal is to study the theory and practice of status behavior. In this training we learn to recognize the differences and intersects of the four parts of individual influence: Rank, Currencies, Confidence and Status behaviour. This training helps you to become more conscious of your behavioral traits and intentions and give you the chance to consciously change you behavior to match your intentions closer than before.
We are combining practical exercises with theory by debriefing each step carefully. We learn to use our body language consciously to build positive resonance and 2-way connection with any
individual or group of people. Status behavior is having a very strong impact to the emotions of the receiver and it is being used to adjust social distance and closeness.
